   The home stores like Lowes had moved their halloween decor to clearance and had their Christmas decor front and center by 10/20/08. Even in rainy Seattle, I can appreciate the changing of the seasons and the rituals that accompany the transitions. Now it seems like the party is over way before the transition occurs. I am expecting to see beach towels the week before Christmas!

   Hi, mr. nicenasty, I must be mellowing in my internet dotage, you’re tagline made me laugh outright. Makes me feel a little better in going with my own second blog choice: I’d originally considered a curmudgeonly blog, but there’s no way I’m going up against that title and that tagline, lol! I suspect that once Congress realizes that we concentrate all of our national spending in four or five ‘blobs’ per year, they will, pass enough legal holidays to assure a sale every other week, thus cutting down on that nasty lean/plenty cycle vendors currently face. Your plan sounds good ’til then, with the stipulation that the sales start at 6:45; after all, we men who don’t watch football will want help with the dishes. *grin*
   Congrats on getting your blog started with the seasonal fun gripe!

   Hey! I ditto all of the above. We had two stores in the Seattle area, both of which were in Mall. We sold them in 1999 and until then the Christmas decorations were put during the night Thanksgiving eve and during the day of Thanksgiving.
   Black Friday was awesome in the sights of the beautiful decor.
